Bargains sometime can be misleading.

When you pay more when you are supposed to pay less for a product during promotion.

Last weekend I went to T Hypermarket to do some groceries shopping. Then I saw this promotion:

Usually one bottle of this mouthwash costs at least RM 28.00, with this price and buy 1 free 1,
It’s too good to be true.

I took the above photo to avoid any disputes during checkout. It did happened. The cashier scanned the item and much to my surprise the price shown was RM 39.00 instead of RM 24.09. I argued and showed her the photo and requested her to honored the lower price. I believed all their cashiers are well trained. They will use all their might to make sure you have to pay RM 39.00 and nothing less. First, she said it’s a different product all together and after comparing both, there is no escape and she had to acknowledged it’s the same one. Now came the best part. Even though both looked 100% the same but it’s different due to the bar codes is different. What? So if they known Siti is a girl then all other girls like Mary, Aminah would not be a girl because the system only recognized Siti as a girl. In the end I have to give up from buying the product. I went back inside and found out that all those displayed under buy 1 free 1 are priced st RM 39.00 and not a single one at RM 24.09. Instead getting a great bargain and you pay more without realising it.

Moral of the story :
1. Always check your prices and your receipt.
2. Go to those hypermarket which these kinds of price irregularity rarely happened.
